Art in Greenville Gallery Greenville Artist Jennifer Conn : Meet the Artist

Jennifer Conn, daughter of artist Grace Scherer, grew up in Western Maryland. She has resided in South Carolina since coming to Bob Jones University for her education. She graduated from BJU with a B.S. in Humanities. She and her husband, Garry, lived in Charleston, SC, for seven years before moving to Newberry, SC, and then finally to Greenville, S.C.

She has studied art under the direction of her mother, Grace Scherer; Greenville artist, Darrell Koons; New York watercolor artist, Margaret Martin; and AWS/NWS artist, Steve Rogers.

She currently paints solely in watercolor. Greenville’s beautiful landscapes and particularly its architecture are common themes for her paintings. She has begun capturing Greenville’s architecture in a unique series of grayscale (black and white) watercolor paintings. These are available as giclee prints on watercolor paper. Their uniform size and crisp, clean “photographic” quality have made them very popular. Liberty Bridge, Westin-Poinsett Hotel, Soby’s Restaurant, and the Gassaway Mansion are a few of the architectural gems in this collection.

Jennifer participates in Greenville’s Open Studios each November. Her work has been exhibited at Center Stage (Greenville, SC), Metropolitan Arts Council (Greenville, SC), and in various businesses around Greenville. Her original watercolor paintings and giclee prints can be found in private collections across the United States and in several foreign countries.
